MP Patali Champika Ranawaka says he will raise state revenue within six months if he is given to lead a parliamentary committee tasked with the job.
The URF leader says the finance ministry and other stakeholders should support such an endeavour.
He says his proposals to raise state revenue have already been submitted to the ways and means committee.
For their implementation, the committee needs to be given powers, he urged the president and the finance ministry.
As per his proposals, a digital platform will be in place for all financial transactions that will also make the tax collection process accurate and effective, he said.
