Health trade unionist Ravi Kumudesh plans to publish a book to raise public awareness on how fraud takes place in procurements in the sector.
He also said the Health Ministry’s additional secretary (procurement)Saman Ratnayake had a last chance to make an honest confession to courts with regard to medicines scams.
Kumudesh said for many years he had been exposing, amid harassment by authorities, what happens at the technical committee process.
From the human immunoglobulin scam alone, the ministry can recover more than Rs. 20 billion if it honestly intends to do so, he added.
