The SJB’s ‘Samagi Buddhi Mandapaya’ held its second annual national convention at Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo yesterday (07).
Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa presided at this policy dialogue forum attended by academicians from local and foreign universities representing the state and private sectors.
Prof. Upul B. Dissanayake delivered the welcome address.
Chairman of the Mandapaya Prof. J.M. Ananda Jayawickrama explained their objectives, targets and the progress made so far.
Guest lectures were delivered by Dr. Surjit S. Bhalla of India and Prof. Tilak Abeysinghe.
They were introduced to the audience by MP Prof. G.L. Peiris.
Also making speeches were Prof. Visaka Suriyabandara, Prof. A. Sarjan, Dr. Athulasiri Samarakoon, Dr. S. Baskaran and Dr. Sriyani Gunaratne.
Prof. Upul Abeyratne chaired a dialogue, which was moderated by Dr. Pradeep N. Weerasinghe.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Geethani Bulankulama.
