The SLPP’s parliamentary group was due to meet at the party head office at Battaramulla today (100) at 10.00 am.
Chaired by national organizer Basil Rajapaksa, they were to discuss a presidential candidate at the upcoming polls.
A majority of party MPs has informed the leadership that they should field incumbent Ranil Wickremesinghe as their candidate.
Others want it to be given to someone else.
Also to be discussed were the no-faith motion against the speaker and the MPs planning to crossover to the opposition.
