Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa has vowed to take all legal action against granting liquor licenses to lure MPs.
He said the Samagi Jana Balawegaya aims to create a society in which alcohol consumption is minimized.
Premadasa was speaking at a prize giving, held with a Rs. 1.2 million sponsorship by ‘Sasunata Aruna’, at Abhayarama Temple in Narahenpita.
He revealed a politically-motivated attempt to lure MPs in a racket to sell liquor licenses aided by the powerful.
It is wrong to issue them purportedly to promote tourism near religious places and schools, he added.
