The country will have a new leader and a new government in around 100 days more, which is ‘good news’ in another words, said opposition MP Dullas Alahapperuma.

The leader of the Freedom People's Congress said the ousting of the present regime in three months’ time is unavoidable.

Speaking to the media, he also had words of criticisms for the government’s celebrations after declaring the country was now free of bankruptcy.

Had the country been able to do so actually, what should have been done were to hold the postponed local government polls, raise the fixed deposit interest for senior citizens back to 15 per cent, eliminate teacher salary anomalies, give a pay hike for university non-academic staff and reopen universities, he said.
