The leader of the Mawbima Janatha Party (MJP) Dilith Jayaweera has downplayed promises given in the political platform to catch thieves as just an attempt to lure voters.

Addressing a party meeting in Polonnaruwa, Jayaweera said that should not be allowed to happen.

He also said that Polonnaruwa being an agricultural district that supplies rice for the country, a national programme is needed to give value to the labour.

The MJP presidential candidate said his party has clearly spelt out how to revive farmers via innovative methods and thereby improving economic feasibility.

He urged all to unite and protect the country at a time when all its resources are getting sold.
