The Sri Lanka Ports Authority handled a record 652,766 containers in the first quarter of 2024.
It is a 48 per cent increase, as against 441,032 containers handled during the same period last year, said the SLPA’s chief manager of communication Chitral Jayawarna.
Also, the containers handled for re-export rose by 49.81 pc to 582,403, he added.
