Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa has warned provincial governors of legal action by a SJB regime over their questionable conduct.

He accused the governor of the southern province of granting political appointments to his cronies.

The governor is appointing his men to local government institutions, which should have elected representatives, he said.

Premadasa was speaking at the handover of smart classroom equipment to St. Sebastian College, Enderamulla on 29 June.

He urged the governor to maintain the dignity of his office in a cash-strapped country that should not have such wasteful projects.

The limited resources should instead be spent for the benefit of children, added the opposition leader.
