At a NPP rally, a female lawyer-activist has launched a scathing attack on politicians in power, saying that Sri Lanka is the only country to be ruled by those who should be behind bars.
Nilanthi Kottahachchi’s statement is a very dangerous one, say Samabima Party leader Deepthi Kumara Gunaratne and political analyst Vipula Karunatilake.
They accuse her of having violated the constitution, taking her speech in the context of how the JVP-led anti-corruption front behaved during the good governance regime.
