Anura Kumara Dissanayake said he has been chosen by the executive council of the National People's Power (NPP) as the party’s presidential candidate.
Dissanayake said so while participating in last night’s (28) political talk-show ‘Salakuna’on Hiru TV.
There has been a dialogue in the media if the NPP will select Dissanayake or Dr.Harini Amarasuriya as its candidate at the next presidential polls.
Meanwhile, Amarasuriya told the ‘Divaina’ newspaper’s YouTube channel in an interview that Dissanayake would be the best candidate with his leadership qualities and qualification.
