Police in Mt. Lavinia have arrested a four-member gang who had intimidated and extorted money from men with homosexual tendencies.
Using social media, they had invited their prey to a house, stripped them naked and videoed, before demanding money from them.
The arrests were made on July 17 after a youth aged 28 lodged a complaint that he had been one of their victims, giving them Rs. 200,000.
In their early 20s, the gang members were led by a youth aged 22, who is presently in hiding.
They had been produced before courts.
