The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) yesterday launched a mobile and a web-based application with the timetables of long-distance buses and facilities for passengers to reserve seats during an event under the patronage of Transport, Highways and Mass Media Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardhana.

Passengers can easily avail this service from the 1315.lk website and the 1315.lk mobile application.

Thus, passengers have the facility to plan their travel needs in advance in a more convenient way.

Similarly, by visiting the 1315.lk website and 1315.lk mobile application, the passengers are given the opportunity to select and reserve the seat of their choice.

Through this, the ability to reserve passenger seats for bus destinations covering the entire island is available.

sltb.eseat.lk or 1315.lk is Sri Lanka’s largest website where all facilities including real time passenger seat reservation and passenger transport vehicle information are available at one place.

This service, which can be accessed through both web and a mobile App has been designed in a very user-friendly manner.

After allocating the seats, the e-ticket will be sent to the user in advance through SMS and email, so the service can be availed in a short period of time without any unnecessary hassles even during busy hours.

In addition to the website, this service can also be obtained through the counters set up at over 40 main bus stations around the island, as well as by calling the 1315 hotline.

This hotline is a 24-hour operational service consisting of 3 languages, and facilities such as information about bus travel services, seat reservation and co-ordination with the conductor are also available.

All operational activities such as seat reservation system, help desk and daily reservations are programs that have been successfully tested and confirmed on selected buses and counters for over 9 months under the supervision of SLTB.

Minister Dr. Gunewardhana speaking at the event said “as another step in the concept of digitizing the transport sector, this program to make available facilities such as the seat reservation and timetables of the buses of the SLTB online is very important.”

“With this, passengers will have the facility of obtaining specific and clear information and making seat reservations to facilitate planned and regular travel. As an initial step in this program, we are working to introduce e-ticketing and e-motoring services to the transportation sector in a short period of time. The long-term goal of this service is to bring this service closer to the people and make their transportation hassle free” the Minister said.
