Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa says he finds the all 22 million countrymen to be his friends irrespective of age, racial, religious, class or any other differences.
Premadasa said he is in the habit of addressing the gathering even at a school function as ‘friends’ as he wants to extend the hand of friendship to all.
The intention is not for any personal gain, but to extend to them the forever asset of education, said the opposition leader.
Speaking after handing over a smart classroom to Urapola Maha Vidyalaya in Attanagalla, he said he found the word ‘enemy’ to be unfamiliar to him.
He rejected attempts at provoking communal feelings to garner votes or a return of the period during which ultra-leftists set fire to schools, universities, libraries and laboratories.
