No financial obstacle should come in the way of holding the presidential election, said minister Susil Premajayantha.
Holding the election is no sudden decision by the government, but was taken as per the constitution and the presidential elections act, he said.
The budget has already allotted the funds required, he added.
Speaking further, Premajayantha said that since he was handed over the education ministry in May 2022, he has been able to restore smooth functioning of educational activities.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe has also given him full freedom and support, he said, adding that future plans should progress accordingly.
