Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa has reiterated that he would never strike deals with thieves and conspirators even on a promise of universal monarchy.
He said his sole deal and friendship were with the 22 million people of the country.
Premadasa was speaking after handing over a smart classroom to Meegasara Maha Vidyalaya in Weeraketiya.
He went onto say that had he accepted the presidency, he would have been forced to protect the thieves.
Protecting thieves is the very reason behind the continuing coverup of the truth behind the Easter Sunday attacks, he added.
