Sri Lanka has discussed the possibility of getting its educational professionals trained by the British Columbia University in Vancour, Canada.
Minister Susil Premajayantha has met top officials of that university and held discussions in that regard.
British Columbia University was represented at the talks by its acting chairman Prof. Gage Averill, Prof. Anna Kindler and Dr. Fang Wang.
Education ministry advisor Prof. Gunapala Nanayakkara too, attended.
Obtaining assistance to train professionals at the 19 colleges of education and at the proposed Sri Lanka Education University came under discussion.
