Ex-president Maithripala Sirisena has been ordered to testify before a presidential commission of inquiry in connection with his claim that he knows the masterminds of the Easter Sunday attacks.

Headed by retired Supreme Court judge I.M. Imam, this commission is tasked with inquiring into the attacks, including the revelations by Channel-4 in September last year.

Secretary of the commission S. Manoharan sent a written order to Sirisena last Thursday, telling him to appear before the commission on 02 April.

He is also required to give evidence before the Maligakanda magistrate’s court on 04 April in a related case.
