SLPP MP Namal Rajapaksa has said that he had been absent at the vote on the no-faith motion against the speaker with the certainty that it would get defeated.
He has told fellow MPs, led by Johnston Fernando, over the phone that he went to Dubai after informing the speaker, in order to hold already postponed party and business meetings.
When asked by an MP if the motion would have been passed by one vote majority, Namal said he looked into everything and knew of its certain defeat.
