A draft act to ensure professional rights and to safeguard economic and cultural rights of artistes has been handed over to justice minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe.
The ministry secretary has been instructed to refer the draft to the attorney general and the legal draftsman by to table it in parliament by May.
The draft act has been formulated by the ministry’s media consultant Dr. Harsha B. Abeykoon and a group of artistes.
