The government is allowing the import of several spices for value-addition and export by BOI-approved producers.
The cabinet has permitted the issuance of licenses to import pepper, nutmeg, cardamom, ginger and mace, subject to approval by the controller of imports and exports.
The finance ministry said the minimum value-addition should be 35 percent to be eligible for export.
