The Public Security Ministry held an international women’s day event on 06 March.
The National Secretariat for NGOs organized it in the form of a dialogue on rallying Sri Lankan women to overcome their present challenges.
The entire proceedings were made closer to those with disabilities through sign language.
The keynote lecture was delivered by Ahmed Rizlan from Chrysalis.
Participating in the dialogue were additional secretary at the Presidential Secretariat Chandra Herath, DIG Renuka Jayasundara of the Children and Women’s Bureau, chairperson of the association of women with disabilities Rasanjali Pathirage, entrepreneur Lonali Rodrigo and attorney Udeni Thevarapperuma.
On the occasion, minister Tiran Alles launched the website of the National Secretariat for NGOs www.ngosec.gov.lk.
