Courts have turned down a request by the CID to issue notice on actress Damitha Abeyratne and her husband.
At a hearing yesterday (26), Colombo Fort magistrate Thilina Gamage strongly censured the police over its request.
The two have not been cited as suspects in a complaint received by the CID that they have defrauded more than Rs. three million on the promise of sending persons to Korea.
The two have reportedly not obliged with a notice to appear at the CID for an inquiry.
