A URF team led by their leader Patali Champika Ranawaka met the SJB to discuss his common minimum programme for the country.

After the meeting, Ranawaka said on X that he was thrilled to engage in a profoundly uplifting dialogue with SJB leaders at their headquarters, delving into the transformative "A Step Forward with Unity for Our Nation" Common Minimum Program.

“Together, we're forging a path of unity and progress for our beloved nation!” he said.

Other URF members in attendance were chairman Dr. Ajith Amarasinghe, general secretary Bandula Chandrasekara, senior deputy chairman Shiral Lakthilaka and national organizer Sumedha Ratnayake.

Participants from the SJB were general secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara, national organizer Tissa Attanayake, Gayantha Karunatilake and Mujibur Rahuman.

Later, speaking to the media, Ranawaka said they would discuss the programme with all parties, excepting the SLPP that even the Supreme Court has declared to be responsible for the country’s bankruptcy.

Previously, it has had discussions with the UNP.

He added that he would not involve any personal disputes in the way of matters pertaining to the country’s future.
