The Department of Examinations was forced to declare the Agricultural Science II paper,

for the GCE Advanced Level examination 2023, null and void following evidence revealing that the paper had been leaked on social media prior to the examination.

Students sat for the paper on 10 January.

Examination Commissioner General Amith Jayasundara, issuing a statement said candidates would be required to retake the examination paper to ensure fair treatment for all.

The specific date for the re-examination will be disclosed later, and after the conclusion of the ongoing A/L examination, the second question paper for Agriculture Science will be administered again, he said.

The Commissioner General of Examinations additionally affirmed that evidence confirming the circulation of the relevant question paper through social media has been established and investigations into this matter are currently ongoing.
