The son of a well-known wealthy businessman has been arrested for having allegedly distributed the drug Ice to the north central province.
Identified as ‘Sony’, he was taken into custody by the Walana anti-vice squad yesterday (10).
Received by courier, the Ice had been packeted at his home and distributed in the province by using the father’s business network for about a year.
Acting on a tip-off, the squad carried out investigations and then raided the businessman’s house and business premises at Kekirawa town.
Ice worth Rs. 3.5 million had been nabbed during the raid.
Police are detaining the suspect and investigating his assets.
