Courts have again established the death of Tamil youth Nagaraja Alex during police custody in November as an act of murder.
Jaffna magistrate A.A. Anandaraja on 02 January ordered that charge-sheets against the four suspects be sent to the high court to enable the delivering of the judgement in the case.
The postmortem examination report submitted to the court cited Alex’s cause of death to be injuries from torture.
Previously on 24 November, magistrate Nagaraja declared his death to be a murder.
The former crimes OIC and three others attached to Vadukkodai police are accused over the killing of the 26-year-old.
They were identified by a witness during an identification parade on 08 December.
The accused have been remanded further until 16 January.
