Around 13 percent of those who have obtained bank loans following the economic crisis are faced with repayment difficulties, said Central Bank governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe.
Of them, 2.7 pc have defaulted the payments, he said at a discussion on ‘2024 and economy.’
Noting that failure to repay loans in other countries means confiscation of assets, Weerasinghe stressed the need to strength the parate law to minimize defaulting.
