Sri Lanka's emergency ambulance service has taken a major leap forward in Asia by integrating artificial intelligence, said SJB MP Dr. Harsha de Silva.

The '1990 Suwa Seriya' service has been able to bring its fleet of ambulances together with a doctor via mixed reality and AI for a better service, he said.

Previouisly, that connection was made via telephone.

De Silva thanked Wavenet and Microsoft for their technical support in that connection.

The MP also paid a tribute to Dumindra Ratnayake, who leads the the service voluntarily, its CEO Sohan de Silva, directors and other staffs.

Introduced as a pilot project in Colombo and Jaffna, this improvement will be expanded to other parts of the country later.

De Silva also said the health minister has agreed to grant the Rs. 10,000 cost of living allowance to 'Suwa Seriya' staffs.
