SJB MP S.M. Marikkar has called for those named by the Supreme Court as being responsible for the economic crisis to be stripped of their civic rights.
Three Rajapaksas – Gotabaya, Mahinda and Basil – are among the persons found by court of having mismanaged the crisis.
Participating in the House debate on budget 2024, Marikkar said that he did not know what the law says, but that the guilty should be taken to courts and stripped of civic rights for having left 220 citizens in the lurch and made the country bankrupt.
