The historic court ruling that found the persons responsible for mismanaging the economic crisis signals that time has come to dissolve the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) for having made the country bankrupt, said MP Patali Champika Ranawaka.
State properties being enjoyed by those named guilty should be forfeited, the United Republic Party leader also said.
He was referring to the Supreme Court ruling yesterday (14) that held the three Rajapaksas – Gotabaya, Mahinda and Basil - and several others are responsible for mishandling the economic crisis.
Leaders of the SLPP can no longer give excuses, said Ranawaka, adding that the people’s ‘Aragalaya’ in 2022 has been given legal justification by the verdict as well.
