The Sri Lanka Army has been without a chief-of-staff for nearly one month now.
President Ranil Wickremesingeh is yet to appoint a successor to Maj. Gen. Sanjaya Wanasinghe, who retired on 12 October as the CoS upon completing 55 years of age.
This is the longest period the Army has been without a CoS in recent times.
