Former president Chandrika Kumaratunga has decided to return to politics along with the SLFP, reports Sunday edition of ‘Lankadeepa’.

She has asked for a party position and responsibilities accordingly.

Matters have already been discussed with party leader Maithripala Sirisena, who has tasked five SLFP strongmen with talking to Kumaratunga.

They are senior vice presidents Mahinda Amaraweera and Shan Wijayalal de Silva, acting general secretary Dushmantha Mithrapala, national organizer Duminda Dissanayake and treasurer Lasantha Alagiyawanna.

They are due to meet the former president at her official residence at Torrington, Colombo on 09 November.

With her side proposing the position of the party’s chair for her, two new positions – chairman and leader – are likely to be created.
