The Committe on Public Finance (COPF) has approved a supplementary estimate for the restructuring of the balance sheets of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) and SriLankan Airlines.
Already approved by the cabinet, it is estimated to pump Rs. 231.5 billion for the two institutions.
The CEB will get Rs. 129 billion and SriLankan Rs. 102 billion.
Even with this, the CEB has outstanding debts of between Rs. 300 billion and Rs. 400 billion.
