Nearly 30 out of 48 criminals who have fled the island are directly or indirectly involved in the drugs trade, intelligence agencies have revealed.
At least five of them are responsible for smuggling the contraband into the country.
Efforts are being made in collaboration with member countries of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) for their arrest, with several informants now operating in Dubai.
