A senior administrative officer, M.W. Jagath Kumara, assumed duties as the secretary to the chief government whip yesterday (10).
Among the politicians present on the occasion were Pavitra Wanniarachchi, Shasheendra Rajapaksa, Madhura Withanage and Tissa Kuttiarachchi.
Kumara is previously an assistant secretary to the chief government whip and senior assistant secretary at the prime minister’s office.
A graduate in state management and law, he also served at the presidential secretariat, housing ministry and several other state institutions.
