Two controversial draft bills have been included in parliament’s agenda for deliberations on 03 October.
They are the anti-terrorism bill and the online safety bill.
An ulterior motive?
In the meantime, former SJB MP Mujibur Rahman accused the government of curbing the freedom of expression and other democratic rights of the people ostensibly to stabilize the country and the economy.
Speaking to the media, he questioned if it was the duty of the media ministry or the police to bring in laws relating to the media and social media.
There is an ulterior motive behind the public security minister’s having introduced the online safety bill, he added.
