A government by the SJB will revise the agreement with the IMF to favour the masses, said opposition leader Sajith Premadasa.

Pacts will be reached with the IMF by heeding the needs of the country’s 22 million people, and not the rulers and the super-rich, he said.

Premadasa was speaking at the donation of a bus worth Rs. five million to akuramboda Vidyalaya in Dambulla.

The opposition leader said that he has held talks with IMF officials, where he informed them that the agreement with them would be changed to suit the average working people.

The country could be saved with support not from Cuba or any other ultra-socialist country, but by entering into advantageous agreements with the IMF, ADB, World Bank, European Union, UK, India, China, he said.

The SJB has a comprehensive vision and purpose towards that end, added Premadasa.
