Leader of the House Susil Premajayantha told parliament yesterday (20) that no police officer has been accused by the presidential commission of inquiry into the Easter Sunday terror attacks.

He was responding to an oral question raised by opposition’s Hector Appuhamy to be answered by the public security minister.

However, both MP Appuhamy and chief opposition whip Lakshman Kiriella refused to accept the reply given by Premajayantha.

After sending a message to subject minister Tiran Alles to come to the Chamber, Premajayantha berated him over his absence.

Alles came to the Chamber a little while later and confirmed the previously given reply.

He said senior DIG Nilantha Jayawardena has not been mentioned in the commission report as claimed by the opposition.
