MP Sarathi Dushmantha Mitrapala has been appointed to cover the duties of general secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP).
The appointment was made at the party’s central committee at a meeting yesterday (11).
SLFP leader Maithripala Sirisena has suspended the party membership of Dayasiri Jayasekara, who was its general secretary.
Mitrapala was previously considered a loyalist of Jayasekara and had even signed a letter by the latter to Sirisena, leveling seven accusations against him.
