One of the two factions vying for positions at elections for Football Sri Lanka has got five of its nominations rejected.
That includes the submission by Dacshitha Sumathipala for the post of president.
He is currently president of the Anuradhapura district football association.
Only eight of that faction’s nominations have been accepted.
Also rejected on grounds of failing to fulfill FFSL statues were T.I. Uduwara for vice president, N.S.B Dissanayake and U. Nihal Perera for executive committee member and P.K.H.M. Ariyaratne for executive committee female member.
In the meantime, the faction led by Jaswar Umar has had all 13 their nominations accepted.
Appealing is allowed until 03 September.
The election committee comprises U.L. Abdul Majeed (chairman), Bandula K. Atapattu and Upali Gunasekara.
