Entrepreneurs, both large and small scales, need to be protected in order for us to progress in the world, said SLPP MP Namal Rajapaksa.
Addressing a party meeting in Borella, he said an investment and development bank each should be established together with the private sector for the benefit of entrepreneurs.
Granting medium and long term loans, introducing new technology and assisting overseas investments should be the responsibilities of the two banks, said Rajapaksa.
A proposal in that regard in 2015 could not be realized due to the regime changed, added the MP.
He also addressed a SLPP event in Puttalam.
The country’s political structure should have a mechanism to strengthen the local economy, he said on the occasion.
