Four Tamils have been released from remand custody over their distribution of porridge in remembrance of their relatives who had died 15 years ago.
Mutur magistrate Thaslin Fowzan ordered each a surety of Rs. 100,000 yesterday (17), five days after their arrest.
Police had originally filed a case against them under the ICCPR, but later re-filed it under the criminal code.
Another court order that led to their arrest has now been lifted as well.
