President Ranil Wickremesinghe will meet with the former local government heads of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna on Friday (18) at the President's Office.

SLPP General Secretary Attorney-At-Law Sagara Kariyawasam speaking to News 1st said that this meeting was called for to discuss the issues experienced by the SLPP members who had submitted nominations for the already postponed Local Government Election.

He added that the SLPP members are facing serious issues in terms to serving their constituents due to the delay in holding the Local Government Election.

Kariyawasam added that SLPP members from the public sector are also experiencing issues at their places of employments.

He said that at the meeting, these issues will be raised with the President in order to reach a solution.
