The SJB questions the party from which incumbent Ranil Wickremesinghe will contest the next presidential polls.
Wickremesinghe is faced with a dilemma over his candidacy this time too, SJB spokesman S.M. Marikkar told the media in Colombo yesterday (17).
The SJB has already finalized Sajith Premadasa as its presidential contender, but Wickremesinghe is unlikely to be a candidate, Marikkar said.
Anura Kumara Dissanayake of the NPP will not have a party to contest from, said the SJB MP.
He asked Wickremesinghe to enjoy the term he was appointed to, and go home thereafter.
He also said to mark his words that a general election will take place mid next year.
Within the next fortnight, the SJB would be allied with the independent MPs and become stronger as a group with a single objective.
With the group going for their target, parliament will have to be dissolved, Marikkar added.
