The government has decided to gather information on assets owned by religious places.
Buddha Sasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Minister Vidura Wickramanayake said this has been decided since there are no records on the same at present.
He said the government would also prepare criteria for a maximum number of temples a Grama Niladhari division can have.
