The Colombo High Court today (14) sentenced Garnia Bannister Francis, a local employee of the Swiss Embassy in Colombo, to a two year prison term with hard labour, suspended for five years.
Francis was also fined Rs. 50,000 by High Court judge Namal Balalle.
She was accused of filing a false complaint at the Cinnamon Gardens Police that she had been abducted and sexually harassed in November 2019 by an armed group in a white van.
