Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa has lamented a ruined condition of the health service, saying that it has now become a terrorizer of the
public.
He compared the government’s actions to destroy the free health service to acts of terrorism, such as importing substandard medicines and medical equipment with subsequent cover-ups and hunting down its professionals for speaking out against wrongdoing.
He was speaking after the setting up of a committee for the first time by the opposition to discuss, reveal and find solutions for the country’s woes.
It took place yesterday (13) at the parliamentary complex, also with the participation of unions of health professionals.
