Both the SJB and the NNP have quitted a newly-appointed parliamentary committee that inquires into the country’s economic insolvency.
Its chairman Sagara Kariyawasam as well as eight other members are from the SLPP.
Opposition MPs have objected to the speaker over Kariyawasam’s appointment as its chair.
JVP’s Vijitha Herath said he resigned from his membership.
