A senior monk has been arrested and produced before courts for allegedly having abused three novice monks at a Buddhist temple at Ginigathhena in Nawalapitiya.
Area’s acting magistrate Harshani Rajakaruna remanded the suspect until 14 July.
She also ordered a medical examination report of all novice monks in the temple.
The monk was taken into custody on 08 July on a complaint received by the National Child Protection Authority.
